Mr. Gribbles is an interdimensional entity, currently shaped like an owl in a brown suit. Before the suit he was a weather system over Nebraska. He has been in food since the fourth one.

The moon came out at the wrong size and stayed

Mesas, cacti, and a propeller plane that has been landing since April. The regulars arrive fuzzy and leave fuzzy. Two of them have worked here; none of them have applied.

The two o’clock queue is mostly greys

Oregon. Rain, pines, and a squad car that idles at the kerb and never gets out. Nobody remarks on any of it. The coffee is 1.90 and the booths are warm.
